Runway and board figures calculator
Your last three months of cash movements, turned into the figures a board asks for first: cash, burn and runway, on current burn and on the plan, with the month to start raising. Illustrative, not advice.
Step 1 of 6
Cash at month end
What was the cash balance at the last month end?
$10,000$100,000,000
Unrestricted cash and equivalents, reconciled to bank statements. An unreconciled figure makes every output wrong.
- Gross burn is the three-month average of cash out; net burn subtracts cash in from operations.
- Runway is cash divided by net burn; on the plan, it ends in the first month cash goes below zero.
- The latest month to start the raise is the last full month of cash, on the plan if you add one, less your lead time. A plan that holds 24 months or more shows Beyond 24 months.
- The default alive check holds expenses flat and grows revenue at the recent rate, after Paul Graham's Default Alive or Default Dead? (2015).
